Emily Olivas
Director and Lead Teacher
Emily has been working in early childhood since 2005 and has a B.A. in Early Childhood Education from Kendall College in Chicago. She brings decades of early childhood experience to Promise from her years of working for Head Start, with at-risk children and families, among many other school environments! Emily is an avid gardener, reader, and craft-lover. She has been with Promise since 2014 as both a teacher and now the Director. She is passionate about preschoolers and it shows in her work. As Emily says, “Preschool is a place to develop social skills alongside academics to prepare for kindergarten and future academic careers.” Emily, her husband, and their children are active members at Boulder Valley Christian Church in Boulder.
Laurel Fowler
Laurel is thrilled to be joining the Promise Christian Preschool team and brings to the school over 20 years of teaching experience. Her favorite part about teaching preschoolers is the the joy they bring to the classroom. Laurel hopes to build a partnership with the students and parents to help children bloom and grow. She is married to Mike, a music teacher and worship leader, and is mom to three wonderful adult children – Emily, Ben, and Joel. When not teaching, she spends time with their dog Lily, loves biking, being outside in the mountains hiking, and enjoys sharing God’s creation through photography.
Board of Directors
Promise Christian Preschool Board is governed by a group of volunteer parents and community members. Our mission is to fulfill the school’s philosophy and mission while creating a successful, loving environment for the children of our families. The Board supports the staff, works to resource the school through fundraising and grants, and is a liaison for staff and families. We are always looking for community members to join in our efforts.
